Are Colored Contact Lenses Safe? What You Need to Know Before Buying in Malaysia
分享

Colored contact lenses are one of those things people either love immediately or feel a little unsure about. The most common question we hear: are they actually safe?
The short answer is yes — but with conditions. Here's what you need to know.
The Certification Question
Not all colored lenses are made the same. The key is whether they're certified by a recognized regulatory body.
In Malaysia, the standard to look for is MDA certification (Medical Device Authority). MDA-certified lenses have gone through proper safety and quality checks to ensure they're safe for your eyes.
At Primocon, our Jeucons lenses are MDA certified. Our Primocon and Gorgeous.i lenses carry ISO, CE, and KFDA certifications, the international and Korean standards for medical devices.
Avoid lenses with no certification at all, especially cheap ones from non-regulated sellers. Those are where problems happen.
Common Concerns (And the Real Answers)
"Will colored lenses hurt my eyes?"
Not if you follow basic hygiene and wear them as directed. The discomfort most people experience comes from poor quality lenses, dirty hands, or wearing them too long, but not from colored lenses themselves.
"I have sensitive eyes. Can I still wear them?"
Yes. Jeucons lenses are specifically formulated to be sensitive-eye friendly. Many of our customers with dry or sensitive eyes wear them daily without issues. Primocon and Gorgeous.i are well known with dry or sensitive eyes wear all this while.
"What about high power? Can I get colored lenses with my prescription?"
Absolutely. Jeucons lenses come in powers from 0 to -10.00 (1000 degrees), so even if you have a strong prescription, you don't have to choose between vision and style.

How to Wear Colored Lenses Safely
These are the basics, simple habits that make all the difference:
1. Always wash your hands before handling lenses
2. Never sleep in your lenses unless they're specifically approved for overnight wear
3. Replace on schedule — don't stretch beyond the recommended wear period
4. Use proper lens solution, but not water or saliva
5. Give your eyes a break, if your eyes feel dry or irritated, please take the lenses out
